Kai

Kai Anderson (They/Them) is a non-binary composer, sound designer, and performer working in Lincoln, Nebraska. They graduated with a BFA in Musical Theatre from Florida Southern College in December 2022. They have been composing for musical theatre since they graduated from high school in 2018, and performing since childhood.

Kai has worked variously in theatre as a performer, sound designer, lighting designer, and general technician. Some of their personal favorite projects include As You Like It at Florida Southern College (KCACTF Division IV: Sound Design Nominated with Dakota Ruiz), Carrie: the Musical at Florida Southern College (Assistant Music Director, Assistant Sound Designer), and Next to Normal at Polk State College (Gabe Goodman).

As a Composer, Kai has written original music for several projects, including the aforementioned As You Like It, a student production of Stop Kiss, several theatre and video projects, and, of course, Liza Battles the Instruments of Destiny.
